Why do you wrestle?
In middle school I was looking for a sport to keep me busy during the winter. My brothers and father were all hockey players but the sport just never clicked with me. Being the youngest of 3 boys I had endured plenty of beatings in my life and believed wrestling could be a good sport for me to do well in. I started in the youth program and have had a burning passion for the sport ever since.
Why is the 2012-2013 season going to be a good year for Mansfield High School?
This is going to be a good season because our team is determined and focused to better themselves everyday no matter how difficult times may be. We have a few holes in the line-up but if each of us better ourselves then we will be able to make up for some of the points we will be losing every match.
What is your favorite Mansfield wrestling memory so far?
My favorite memory so far would have to be my sophomore year in the D1 South Sectional tournament where I beat an opponent I had lost to earlier in the year to earn 3rd place.
What were your emotions when you had your first high school match?
I felt extremely nervous my first match. Although I had wrestled two years of youth, to step in and wrestle varsity as a freshman was a huge step for me but when the match started all that was on my mind was getting a win and when I heard the referee's hand hit the mat for a pin I felt a rush of jubilation throughout my whole body.

I believe wrestling for MHS is extremely special because not only does it help build strength and endurance, it is extremely beneficial to your mental toughness as it tested day in and day out in this sport. Also you create bonds and friendships with your teammates that will last a lifetime.
