Hock 5 - Boys Basketball (Updated 3/13/14)
Team | Record | News |
---|---|---|
1. Mansfield | (22-3) | The Hornets are the only team in all three of our polls to stay at #1 from the preseason all of the way through the end of the season - and for good reason. It took three thrilling overtimes to finally eliminate Mansfield after what truly was a remarkable season. Oh, and they return three of the best players in the league next year. - RL |
2. Franklin | (18-7) | Season after season, the Panthers seem to always be one of the toughest outs when the playoffs roll around and this year was no different as the move to the unknown of the Central didn't stop Franklin from reaching a sectional final. - JP |
3. Sharon | (17-8) | It took all season, but I think the true identity of the Eagles came out to play in the playoffs. They had their ups and their downs but has there been a better combo of guards in the last 31 years at Sharon than Brian Mukasa and Jimmy Fritzson? Not according to head coach Bruce Jackman. - RL |
4. Taunton | (17-5) | The Tigers, even shorthanded, took a very talented Brookline team to double overtime in the first round of the playoffs and, although they'll miss Gerald Cortijo, showed the depth that could make them a sleeper in the league next season. - JP |
5. Canton | (14-8) | Simply put - a historic season for the Bulldogs. Ryan Gordy has turned this program around very quickly and players are starting to buy in. This senior class has set the bar for the future of Canton basketball. - RL |
On The Edge: Attleboro (13-10)
