Hock 5 - Softball (Updated 6/18/14)
Team | Record | News |
---|---|---|
1. North Attleboro | (18-4) | Gatorade Player of the Year Meg Colleran led the Rocketeers to their first ever sectional final and allowed only one hit in the loss to BR. This may not be the most talented team top to bottom, but North got the most out of its talent and got important contributions from everyone in the lineup during its tourney run. - JP |
2. Taunton | (20-3) | The Tigers were doomed by uncharacteristic errors in the playoffs but that shouldn't overshadow the incredible season Taunton had. Jesse Aleixo concluded a remarkable career but the Tigers have to be excited about what they bring back next year. - RL |
3. King Philip | (16-5) | The Warriors had an incredible run to close the reason before a loss to Weymouth in the playoffs. Kali Magane was pitching as good as anyone in the state down the stretch and she's just one of many key pieces returning for KP. - RL |
4. Franklin | (14-10) | The Panthers reached the sectional semifinal for the second season in a row, including postseason wins over Milford and a shutout of No. 2 seed Silver Lake. Lilly Criscione took over in the circle in the playoffs and Franklin demonstrated the Hock's strength in depth. - JP |
5. Milford | (13-8) | The young Hawks had ups and downs this season, but a dominating win on the final game of the season made it back-to-back Davenport titles and the young pitchers showed the talent to ensure that Milford will be back in the running in 2015 as well. - JP |
On The Edge: Oliver Ames (10-11)
