Why do you play soccer?
The main reason I play soccer is because I love the sport. It sounds cliché, but I love the challenge and creativity of the game. I also like to be a part of a team. It not only provides enjoyment, but allows time for me to hang with my friends while doing something that I love.
Why is 2012-2013 going to be a good year for Franklin High School?
This will be a great year for FHS because we have so many starters returning. We added in some young key players as well and I think we are starting to click. The team is full of emotion and kids who want to win and I am looking forward to seeing how far the boys can go.
What is your favorite Franklin soccer memory so far?
My favorite soccer memory would have to be my sophomore year when the team made a deep run into the MIAA tournament. We made the tournament for the first time in about ten years and to add onto that we upset the #2 seed, Greater New Bedford, to advance to the quarter finals. We were very underrated and the group of boys we had on the team were fantastic.
What were your emotions when you played your first varsity game?
In my first varsity game I had a lot of nerves going into it. I was only a freshman, and I was going up against 18 year olds twice my size. I had so many thoughts running through my head on whether to do this or to do that, but once I got into the swing of the game I settled down and was able to just play soccer.
What makes playing for Franklin High School so special?
I think playing for FHS is special because each and every kid wants to win and they are all willing to put in countless hours of hard work to achieve that success. I think the overall atmosphere is phenomenal and we have a great group of kids who just love to play the game. Also the fact that I get to play for my town and represent my high school means a whole lot to me as well.
When you’re not practicing, what are you usually doing?
When I am not practicing I usually am usually hanging out with my brother or my friends. On school nights after practice I usually go right to homework. We are student athletes and the student part of it comes first.
What are your top 3 pregame pump up songs?
I generally don’t listen to music to much before a game, however when I do I usually listen to either rap or dubstep. Anything that can get me pumped up and ready to play.
