Mansfield, 23 vs. Duxbury, 19 - Final - Mansfield will play Reading in the Div 2. Super Bowl.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass - Brendan Hill hauled in a 74-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Wisnieski late in the fourth quarter as Mansfield downed Duxbury, snapping their 37-game streak, 23-19, to advance to the EMass Division 2 Super Bowl. They will play Reading, a rematch of the 2010 Super Bowl that Mansfield won.
Kevin Makie and Robbie Rapoza each scored a first half touchdown, and helped gain Mansfield first downs on their final drive that drained the clock.
"Brendan ran a great route, got the safety in the corner to bite," Wisnieski said. "He broke and he was wide open I just had to put it on him."
"[Kyle] just makes it easy," Hill said. "He puts it right in my hands every single time."
When it looked as though Hill might be caught after the catch, a sudden burst sent him streaking into the endzone.
"After burners kicked in," he said "Fast when it counts."
