Oliver Ames players and staff, along with Brockton High and other high schools, honored Brennan soon after.
Now the Tigers boys basketball program is ready to continue coach Brennan's legacy with the first annual Pat Brennan Memorial Golf Tournament.
Below is a statement from Oliver Ames' boys basketball booster treasurer Bob Kelley:
Patrick Brennan passed away earlier this year. He most recently was an assistant coach with the Oliver Ames Boys Basketball program. Pat earned his undergraduate and Masters Degrees from Springfield College. Brennan retired in 2006 after serving 36 years as a guidance counselor at Brockton High School. He has a long and successful resume at the high school level, having coached track, cross country and girls basketball. Pat holds the distinction of coaching the only girl’s team in state history to win three-straight Division One South Sectional Titles.
