If it seems like we're writing about Stoughton graduate Matt Green every week, it's because we are. After setting a BSU record last week, Green totaled 317 all-purpose yards in Bridgewater State's 51-27 win over Worcester State. Green was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAS) DIII Northeast Special Teams Player of the Week after setting a BSU and New England D3 single-game record with two punt returns for touchdowns.
Taunton alum Tayla Morais picked up her first collegiate goal on September 17th in Assumption College's 5-1 win over New Haven. Morais, who was named to the 2014 Assumption College Student-Athlete Honor Role last year, has helped the Greyhounds to a 5-1 start.
Rachel Berkowsky scored her first collegiate goal for Eastern Connecticut State last week in the Warriors' 3-0 win over Fitchburg. The former Stoughton star picked up her first career assist on 9/13, setting up the opening goal against Westfield State.
Franklin graduate Joe Kalil scored two goals for Wentworth on Wednesday afternoon. The goals were Kalil's second and third of his career after the freshman netted his first collegiate goal on September 7th. Kalil is tied for second in goals scored for the Leopards.
Former North Attleboro player Rose Mooney scored her first goal of the season, and second of her career, in St. Anselm's 3-2 overtime win over LIU. Mooney opened the scoring 7:41 into the game. The win moved St. Anselm to 3-1 on the season and ended LIU's 20-game regular season winning streak.
Attleboro High alum Alain Laurent scored his first goal of the season for the University of New Haven in a 2-1 loss to Saint Rose in the NE-10 opener. Laurent scored on a header at 31:48 of the first half to tie the game at 1-1.
Oliver Ames graduate Emily Newman helped WPI finish 10th overall in the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational. Newman finished 13th overall and was the second best WPI runner in the 5K run.
Earlier this year, Franklin grad Alex Price was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Price was selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team after earning a 3.30 GPA while majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
Former HockomockSports.com Player of the Year David MacKinnon made season-high nine saves for Hartford in the Hawks' 1-1 tie against #14 American University. The Oliver Ames graduate has 13 career shutouts in less than two seasons at Hartford.
Lauren Beecher led Dickinson University volleyball with 11 kills on Saturday in a 3-1 loss to Haverford. The Mansfield alum is third on the team with 59 kills on the season and has also added nine digs for the Red Devils, who are 3-7 on the season.
