What You Need To Know:
How did you get started and who introduced you to the sport?
One day my dad asked me if I wanted to play lacrosse and I love trying new things so I did. I started playing when I was in third grade. It was around the time when girls lacrosse was just becoming popular. At the time they only had one youth girls team whereas now they split it by grade so there are about four. I remember being one of the youngest on the team and everyone seemed so tall to me. I had a great season, loved the sport, and have been playing ever since.
What’s the best part about being on a team?
I love the excitement and satisfaction that comes along with being part of a team. My favorite part about being on a team is that we all share the same goal to succeed and have fun. I trust my teammates and always put in my best effort not only for myself, but for them. I love the rewarding feeling after winning a big game and sharing that feeling with my teammates because it wasn't a one person show. We all support each other and help each other to be the best we can be.
What is the best part of playing for Canton High School?
The best part of playing for Canton High School is having the opportunity to represent my town and school. There are younger youth lacrosse girls, classmates, and parents who look up to us as we play lacrosse. This is why it is essential to show sportsmanship and represent the high school and Canton well.
What are your goals for after high school?
My goals for after high school is to go on and have a successful field hockey career at Holy Cross. I hope to do well in school as well, graduate, and become a physical therapist.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
My favorite lacrosse memory occurred my sophomore year. We had two games in a row. The practice after, it was 95 degrees outside. Our coach surprised us and let us do planks and sit ups and then go to Crescent Ridge to get ice cream instead of practice. It was a great break!
When you're not practicing, what can people find you doing?
When I am not practicing, I am either at team dinner, doing homework, or hanging out with my friends or family. I also love to run and go to Panera.
What are your pregame/postgame rituals?
Before games, I listen to music to get myself pumped up and focused for the game. I always eat an apple and drink a lot of water or gatorade. After games, I stretch and drink chocolate milk.
